A new A Man on the Inside Season 2 update has been given by star Ted Danson and creator Mike Schur.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Danson and Schur were asked if the pair had spoken to Netflix about continuing the series in any way, considering that the show’s finale does end in a satisfying enough way.

Danson said that everything about the show continuing depends fully on Netflix, and that they won’t know more for at least another month.

“All of this depends on being picked up, obviously,” said Danson. “Netflix has its system, so we won’t know that for a month, but we seem to be doing really well. We have, but it’s one of those things where you don’t want to go too far down that road, and it’s more of a fingers crossed kind of conversation.”

Schur also chimed in, noting that the series was never envisioned as a limited one, and was actually pitched to Netflix as an ongoing series. However, he said that there are definitely building blocks for a second season, and he’s told Netflix he’ll keep making the show as long as they keep wanting him and Danson back.

“We pitched it to them as a series, not a limited thing,” said Schur. “We won’t know the reality of that for a couple weeks at least, probably more like a month or two. But before the season was even over, we had started saying [a second season] could be this, could be this, and trying to figure out how it would be different and how it would be the same. He can’t go undercover at Pacific View anymore. Obviously, that ship has sailed. But what you have at the end of the season is a 76-year-old man with a new lease on life and a new sense of purpose and a new kind of fledgling career as an undercover detective. … You have a lot of building blocks for future seasons.

“I told Netflix, I’ll do this forever if you want to keep paying me to write seasons of a show where Ted Danson is an undercover detective. I will sign up for this through 2050 if you let me.”

A Man on the Inside is currently available to watch via stream on Netflix.

ComingSoon Editor-in-Chief Tyler Treese spoke to Nutcrackers stars Ben Stiller and real-life brothers Homer and Arlo Janson. The trio discussed filming at the Janson family’s actual farmhouse, what drew them to the project, and more. Directed by David Gordon Green, the holiday comedy movie is now streaming on Hulu.

“Nutcrackers follows strait-laced and work-obsessed Mike (Ben Stiller) as he is suddenly thrust into being a caregiver for his rambunctious, orphaned nephews,” says the synopsis.

Tyler Treese: Ben, all four of these kids are powerhouses and have such great energy that really makes the movie feel alive. You film this on their actual farm. It just feels like there’s so much truth to this movie and there’s indie roots and vibe to it. So, how exciting was it to get on this project because of that?

Ben Stiller: Yeah, that was why I wanted to do it. Everything you’re saying, it was coming from an organic place. David Gordon Green, this guy loves making movies. I’ve known him for years. We’ve never worked together. And when you feel the passion that a filmmaker has, when he says, “I wanna make this movie. It’s based on these kids. These kids are gonna play themselves. We’re gonna shoot at their house. We’re gonna shoot it on film with a 35-millimeter camera. It’s gonna be down and dirty, and we’re just gonna have fun.” To me, I was like, “All right, I’m on board.”

That’s what you’re looking for in a filmmaker. Somebody who’s passionate and who you think is talented. It was really everything I would’ve hoped for. Jumping in into their world and getting to know these people and their families, and it’s such a feeling of family in the movie, too, because we were in their home, and the filmmaking team was a family, and David kind of creates that energy around. So, it was a blast.

Homer Janson: Passion spreads.

Stiller: It does, right? Yeah. I mean, few filmmakers — David’s been making movies for a while — that I’ve worked with who, like, second or third day of filming, we’re shooting a shot, and he just goes, “Then we’ll get this here, and then we’re gonna pop this here.” He is like, “I love making movies.” They’re like, “I love making movies too.” It’s like, all right, we’re still here. We’re still doing it, and that’s just like the best.

I love that positivity, and it really shows in the film, too.

Homer, so much of the movie is you and your brothers messing with Ben. Did that ever translate to you guys pulling some pranks behind the scenes as well?

Homer: [laughs] I mean, it was basically messing around with the crew and Ben the whole entire time. Yeah. I mean, not even on purpose, but just our normal lives were kind of messing around with everybody. Pigs being in the house, Guinea pigs crawling on top of you, stuff like that.

Stiller: Like the first time the hog Mabel comes in. I think David did that intentionally, but I get used to the environment. Getting me used to the environment, but like this hog comes in squealing full steam. I’d never heard a live hog, you know, probably only heard hogs in movies and the live hog is much more intense. And also when you’re coming down the stairs and the hog’s running at you, and there’s no real… like this isn’t a big budget movie. There’s no…there’s not a lot of…your grandfather was an animal wrangler, right?

Homer: Yeah. We just thought he would be.

Stiller: Yeah. So, I trusted him, but basically, it was like, “All right, is this okay that the hog is squealing and charging me?” And he is like, “Yeah, yeah, no, it’s fine. It’s just me.”

Homer: She only just wants to chew on your shoe.

Arlo Janson: She gets mud all over.

Stiller: Yeah, she gets mud all everywhere, but like that kind of thing was happening all the time, and farting going on. Not you, but Atlas, right? Yeah. So that, the decorum was a little bit [laughs]. Not exactly, this wasn’t The Crown.

Arlo, they filmed on your actual family farm and your actual animals got to be in it. How was that experience of going from your regular life one day to this big film being shot there?

Arlo: Well, half of the people were our friends in two minutes, and it was smooth sailing the time we were there, so it was really fun.

Stiller: Yeah. I feel like these guys are so warm and welcoming. You know, the first time I met ’em, they gave me a big hug, and right off the bat, I was like, all right, these are like really nice sweet kids who are really open. That was the feeling that they gave to everybody at your house. You kinda were always showing people around and giving tours.

Homer: I mean, there’s no reason not to be nice and hug a person when you first meet them.

Stiller: Well, that’s why. I’m from New York, so I mean, if you do that in New York, people think there’s something wrong with you. That’s, unfortunately, what’s wrong with our world.

Homer: I immediately knew I was gonna have fun and that you’re an awesome person when you hugged me back and when you listened to me when I was talking about my chicken running around.

The power of hugs.

Stiller: Right? Exactly.

Dolph Lundgren took to social media to share some great health news, revealing that he is now cancer-free after his initial diagnosis nine years ago.

What did Lundgren say in his statement?

In an Instagram video sent out on Thanksgiving, Lundgren revealed that he is now “finally cancer-free,” and grateful for a “bright future.” The legendary actor sent the video from UCLA, where he was getting his final treatment to “get rid of that last dead tumor.”

“Here I am at UCLA. [I’m] about to go in and get rid of that last dead tumor,” said Lundgren in the video. “Since there are no cancer cells in my body anymore, then I guess I’ll be cancer-free, so I’m looking forward to this procedure. It’s been a rough ride and really taught me how to live in the moment and enjoy every moment of life. It’s the only way to go.”’

Lundgren revealed in 2023 that eight years prior, he had been diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2015. After surgery kept him symptom-free for five years, Lundgren was found to have additional tumors in his kidney and liver in 2020, and the actor was told that the cancer was terminal, and that he would only have 2-3 years left to live.

Despite the prognosis, Lundgren would go on to seek additional opinions from the UCLA Medical Center, and went through with a recently-developed medical treatment, which helped reduce the size of his tumors by 90%.

Jordana Brewster has starred in a number of high-profile projects throughout her Hollywood career, but before the actress became a star, she got her start in the world of soap operas, which she says is a surprisingly great way to experience the world of acting.

Speaking to ComingSoon in a recent interview about her most recent film, Cellar Door, Brewster opened up about her time on various television soap operas. Brewster said that working on them teaches actors a lot of “technical stuff,” and the stakes being so low helps.

What did Jordana Brewster say about working on soap operas?

“Well, you’re learning, you have like one day to prepare like eight pages of dialogue. So you have to learn the dialogue and adhere to it. Then you have to get used to cameras and hitting your mark. So it teaches you a lot of the technical stuff. Also, the stakes are low because it airs, and then it’s gone forever. So it’s really a great playground for actors.”

Brewster first debuted in the world of acting on a 1995 episode of the hit soap opera All My Children. That same year, she would be cast as Nikki Munson on the equally big soap opera As the World Turns and go on to star in the series for six years, appearing in 118 episodes total.

Since then, Brewster has gone on to star in a number of big movies and shows, including Chuck, Dallas, Lethal Weapon, and the Fast & Furious franchise, which she’s appeared in seven films for.

Scott Speedman has starred in several incredibly popular projects throughout his career, including a breakout role in the drama series Felicity and a starring role in the 2008 psychological horror The Strangers, both of which he said was an incredible experience.

Speaking to ComingSoon in a recent interview, Speedman opened up about his role in The Strangers, where he starred opposite Liv Tyler. With the original film now getting remade in a new trilogy, Speedman said the original film was so effective because of Bryan Bertino’s writing and directing.

“Honestly, I just think that’s Bryan Bertino, the guy who wrote it and directed it,” said Speedman. “When I read that script, it was sort of a jaw-dropping, simple story, but I read it, and I was terrified. It just had a feel to it that I knew if we could get half of what was on the page on the screen, it would land with an audience. Those are very tricky. We make a lot of horror movies that don’t get there. This one really did. We had Liv Tyler, too, with Bryan and me. It was just a great group, and we were very lucky that Bryan was able to bring his words to the screen. It doesn’t always happen. But yeah, that one’s a special one for sure.”

Speedman reflects on “special show” Felicity

On the topic of Felicity, Speedman said he recently just watched the show again for the first time since it premiered in 1998. Once again, he credited the creators, J.J. Abrams and Matt Reeves, for making the show look as good as it did.

“I just watched it recently for the first time since I saw the pilot in 1998,” Speedman said. “I did a podcast, and so I saw three episodes and was blown away by the episodes. I thought they were beautiful and I get it. I mean, just the way it was shot, the way it was cast. It was J.J. Abrams and Matt Reeves’ first TV show, and obviously, those guys are so talented. To see all the care they put into that show was pretty beautiful. I was blown away. Like it was shot on film, you know what I mean? It just has this richness. They really wrote amazing for me, Keri, Scott, and everybody else; it’s a special show for sure.”

Director J.J. Perry has worked with Dave Bautista in 2024’s The Killer’s Game, and is set to re-up their partnership with the upcoming film Afterburn, which Perry says was a joy to get to working back together again.

Speaking to ComingSoon in a recent interview, Perry not only revealed that Afterburn was nearly wrapped up in production but recalled how he came to make the movie.

What did J.J. Perry say about working with Dave Bautista?

“Yeah, man. We had a great time on The Killers Game, and they had mentioned that there was another film, another script,” said Perry. “I’d actually read Afterburn 12 years ago to coordinate it about six years ago when Gerard Butler was gonna do it with a Korean director [Jung Byung-gil], who did The Villainess. I met the Korean director in K-Town, and somehow, it landed in my lap, and I was grateful. I kind of knew what to do. I’m just wrapping that one up right now. Dropped my director’s cut. So I’m super excited about that. Dave, I’m telling you, if you don’t have someone like Dave Bautista in your life, you need one. He’s such a generous and intelligent [person]. I can’t say enough good things about him. He’s amazing.”

Perry also opened up about Bautista and his relationship and joked that “everybody should have a little Dave Bautista in their life” after he had gotten to know the wrestler-turned-actor.

“Dave is legitimately one of the most dangerous people I’ve ever. He’s nice as pie. Everybody should have a little Dave Bautista in their life. He’s a gem of a human, and I love him to death, but he is legitimate. He’s a big, strong man who is very skilled in wrestling and very skilled at jiu-jitsu and who’s got lunchbox fists. He’s massive, and he can hit really hard, “Perry said.

“So, coming up with a style with him, with my action team that is always with me. Justin Yu, Felix Betancourt, and Troy Robinson, these guys come with me from Day Shift, and they’ve come with me on this whole journey, even as a second unit director for years. [The key] is coming up with something that’s interesting for him. What is good choreography? What is that? It’s creating a problem for your protagonist or for your protagonist and showing how he solves that problem and repeat and repeat and repeat. Make the problems get harder and harder.”

The synopsis for Afterburn reads, “Ten years after a solar flare wiped out technology across the globe, ex-soldier Jake (Bautista) works as a treasure hunter recovering valuable objects from the old world for powerful clients. His latest mission: team up with freedom fighter Drea to recover the Mona Lisa before an unhinged warlord gets there first.”

The Lilo & Stitch remake is headed to theaters next year and will feature the voice of Chris Sanders, who not only voiced Stitch in the original but also directed the movie with Dean DeBlois. According to Sanders, getting to play the role again meant the world.

Speaking to ComingSoon in a recent interview, Sanders — who also directed the hit animated films How to Train Your Dragon, The Croods, and The Wild Robot, among others — was asked about getting to voice the role again and what it meant. To Sanders, he was grateful to get the call and always has fun playing Stitch.

What did Chris Sanders say about playing Stitch?

“It was amazing. I’m really grateful that they reached out to me for that. I’ve done four sessions now,” said Sanders. “I would imagine there might be one last one for me just as they finalize because I think they were still in flux in a lot of things. So, they might call me in, I think, one last time, but that was great. I really liked it, and I always do the voice for things like ice shows and parades and toys. So I’m in the studio about at least six times a year just to do like all sorts of other things.”

Maia Kealoha stars as Lilo in the film, while Sydney Agudong plays Nani, Kaipo Dudoit plays David, Tia Carrere plays Mrs. Kekoa, Courtney B. Vance plays Cobra Bubbles, Amy Hill plays Tūtū, and Jason Scott Lee is playing a luau manager. The voice cast, meanwhile, includes Sanders as Stitch, Zach Galifianakis as Dr. Jumba, and Billy Magnussen as Agent Pleakley.

“A live-action reimagining of Disney’s 2002 animated classic, “Lilo & Stitch” is the wildly funny and touching story of a lonely Hawaiian girl and the fugitive alien who helps to mend her broken family,” says the synopsis.

The script was written by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright, while Sanders and DeBlois wrote and directed the screenplay for the original 2002 movie. Sanders voiced the character in the original movie and numerous other projects, including Lilo & Stitch: The Series, 2005’s Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch, and 2006’s Leroy & Stitch.

Liam Neeson has offered up an update on the status of The Ice Road 2, teasing what fans can expect from the upcoming sequel to the 2021 action movie.

Speaking to ComingSoon in a recent interview, Neeson opened up about The Ice Road 2, noting that the film is set in Nepal and will feature roads that lead up to the infamous Mount Everest.

What did Neeson say about The Ice Road 2?

“Well, the second one is set in Nepal, and the little roads leading up into the Himalayas and subsequently up to Mount Everest,” said Neeson of The Ice Road 2. “We shot it in Melbourne. There were some tough days, let’s put it that way. But it was good to get the team back again, you know? It has a few surprises. I think it’s gonna be a good film, actually.”

Neeson, 72, also opened up about what it was like to continue being a working actor in Hollywood. The legendary actor said he is lucky to continue getting rewarding work and still feels “privileged” to be doing it.

“Look, I’ve been very, very lucky for a start. Really, really lucky,” Neeson said. “Yes, I’m 72. They still send me scripts to do. Some of them I beat some guys up, some I don’t. But I just feel privileged and really honored that I get sent, occasionally, a really good script. You know, there are several that I’m very quick to pass on, but I’m still lucky enough to be sent them.”

The sequel will see Neeson reprise his role as ice road driver Mike McCann, who is traveling to Nepal to honor his late brother’s last wishes of scattering his ashes on Mt. Everest. “While on a packed tour bus traversing the deadly 12,000 ft. terrain of the infamous Road to the Sky, McCann and his mountain guide encounter a group of Nepalese mercenaries and must fight not only to save themselves and the busload of innocent travelers, but also the local villagers’ homeland,” reads the synopsis for the film.

Alongside Neeson, writer-director Jonathan Hensleigh will also return to the film. The original film starred Neeson, Benjamin Walker, Amber Midthunder, Marcus Thomas, Laurence Fishburne, and many others, but it’s unclear if any will return for the sequel.

The original movie centered on the collapse of a diamond mine in Northern Canada. Following the collapse, “a ‘big rig’ ice road driver must lead an impossible rescue mission over a frozen ocean to save the trapped miners. Contending with thawing waters and a massive storm, they discover the real threat is one they never saw coming.”

Reneé Rapp came into superstardom thanks, in part, to her starring role on the hit Max comedy-drama series The Sex Lives of College Girls. With her departure coming in the recently premiered Season 3, the show’s co-creator opens up about what it’ll be like without her.

Speaking to THR, Justin Noble — who co-created the series with Mindy Kaling and also serves as showrunner — was asked about what the show is going to be like without Rapp around. Noble said that the show would be “busier” due in part to more people being able needing to be featured.

What did the show’s co-creator say about Rapp’s departure?

“It looks busier, frankly. It’s really interesting to say that about someone leaving, especially someone who was fundamental of the first 22 episodes of the show. But we have more mouths to feed than ever,” said Noble. “I’ve said before in press, but the sweetest criticisms we ever got in season two were people being like, ‘Longer episodes!’ Then, as we introduced these new characters, frankly, I was like, ‘How are we going to produce episodes that have this many stories in them and serve as all these people?’ Ilia is incredible, and we want to spend more time with Lila, Canaan, Willow [Renika Williams], and all these people.

“So, the scripts are longer. There’s more to do. We have five main girlies moving forward. So, it grows. The show grows and gets fuller and faster. It’s already so fast, but that’s just what the show is.”

The Sex Lives of College Girls is created by Kaling and Noble, the latter of whom also serves as the showrunner. The series stars Pauline Chalamet, Amrit Kaur, Alyah Chanelle Scott, Mekki Leeper, Christopher Meyer, Ilia Paulino, Lolo Spencer, Renika Williams, Mitchell Slaggert, and Reneé Rapp, the latter of whom will be in the show for just a few episodes before her departure.

Additional cast members for Season 3 include Rebecca Wisocky, Nabeel Muscatwalla, Michael Hsu Rosen, Ruby Cruz, Devin Craig, Michael Provost, and Roby Attal. It is executive produced by Howard Klein. It is a production by Kaling International in association with Warner Bros. Television.

The Farrelly brothers have directed some of the most beloved films of all time, and although the pair haven’t co-directed a film together on a film in a decade, the pair are never saying never when it comes to doing so again.

Speaking to ComingSoon, the pair — Bobby and Peter — were asked about whether or not they would direct a film together again or if they preferred to just work as they do now, splitting up directing and writing work. According to Peter, the pair could get behind the camera together again, but the work they do now is more or less “seamless” in their cooperation.

What did the Farrelly brothers say about directing together again?

“No, I could definitely see us doing something again, but it is easier solo because… Like our TV show, Loudermilk, I would write the episodes and direct a couple, but then Bobby would come in and direct all the other episodes, and I’d be editing them as he’s directing them,” said Peter. “It is sort of seamless. Literally when I’m editing, I can’t remember if I directed it or he directed it because I’m looking at it so much. I’m like, “Was I there that day? I can’t remember.” So it’s a good system, but I would love to. I hope we do direct [together again]. It’ll be fun.”

Bobby also said that, as of now, they get more work done by splitting up, but for the “right project,” they would definitely come together.

“It is fun. Yeah. But we get a lot more done if we split up a little. Divide and conquer. But at the right project, we’ll come back to work together again.”

As a duo, the Farrelly brothers have directed some of the most memorable comedies in Hollywood history, including Dumb and Dumber, Kingpin, There’s Something About Mary, Me, Myself & Irene, Shallow Hal, and more. Most recently, the pair were behind the 2024 films Ricky Stanicky and Dear Santa. Peter wrote and directed the former, while Bobby directed Dear Santa, which Peter wrote.

Hot Toys is celebrating the release of the recent Alien: Romulus with a new sixth scale figure, which is available to preorder now on Sideshow Collectibles’ site.

The newest figure comes modeled after the iconic Xenomorph as it appears in the 2024 film. The “Scorched Xenomorph” stands at about 44cm (17.3″) tall and is painted black and dark gray with a glossy finish to match the way the creature is presented in the movie. The figure also features an all-new joint design, and a bendable tail to allow for different posing styles.

How to get the Alien: Romulus Hot Toys figure?

The figure is available to preorder now on Sideshow Collectibles’ website, and retails for $305. The figure is expected to release sometime between October 2025-March 2026, so fans will have to wait a little bit before getting their hands on one.

For those interested in purchasing, Sideshow does also offer payment plan options if the initial price is a bit too much.

As is customary with Hot Toys figures, the figure also comes with two interchangeable carapaces, one of which features a translucent look at the Xenomorph’s skull. The figure also comes with a handful of different hands to swap in and out, an extendable inner jaw, an articulated facehugger accessory, and a diorama base with LED light-up functionality.

2022’s Babylon was a box office bomb, not to mention a critical dud — and Margot Robbie still doesn’t quite understand.

What did Margot Robbie say about Babylon?

Speaking during a recent appearance on the Talking Pictures podcast (via Deadline), the movie was brought up and Robbie mentioned that she really had no idea why people seemed to dislike the movie.

“I don’t get it either. I know I am biased because I am very close to the project and I obviously believe in it, but I still can’t figure out why people hated it,” Robbie said. “I wonder if in 20 years people are going to be like, ‘Wait, Babylon didn’t do well at the time?’ Like when you hear that Shawshank Redemption was a failure at the time and you’re like like, ‘How is that possible?’”

The film was directed by Damien Chazelle (La La Land), and was his biggest project to date, with a budget of around $80 million. Despite the film’s mixed reaction, Robbie said that she had a great time making it.

“Damian is so thorough,” the Barbie star said. “Do you know what I loved so much about working with him? I felt like no one had really put their foot to the floor with the gas, but he wanted that all the time. He wanted more always. Even when we were prepping.”

Set in 1926, Babylon told the story of the rise and fall of multiple characters during Hollywood’s transition from the silent film era to sound films. Alongside Robbie, Babylon also starred Brad Pitt, Diego Calva, Jean Smart, Jovan Adepo, and Li Jun Li. P.J. Bryen, Lukas Haas, Olivia Hamilton, Max Minghella, Tobey Maguire, Flea, Samara Weaving, Olivia Wilde, Spike Jonze, Chloe Fineman, and Phoebe Tonkin also appeared in the film, as did many other high-profile actors.

Directed by David Gordon Green, the holiday comedy movie will be available to stream on Hulu starting November 29, 2024.

“Nutcrackers follows strait-laced and work-obsessed Mike (Ben Stiller) as he is suddenly thrust into being a caregiver for his rambunctious, orphaned nephews,” says the synopsis.

Tyler Treese: Such a pleasure to speak with you all. This was such a fun movie. And, Linda, this is such a wholesome movie with a great message and I imagine some of that positivity came from being on the set because I can’t imagine having a bad time with these four fun kids and Ben Stiller. So how did that translate from set to screen?

Linda Cardellini: Oh, these are the greatest kids. They’re the kindest, sweetest, most talented kids. It’s just easy. It’s so easy, and you watch them and there’s this chemistry and charisma that they all have, and especially when they’re all together, it’s just so beautiful. You really can’t manufacture it. So getting to be part of that is truly special.

Ulysses Janson: Thank you, Linda.

And this has such a really cool discovery and [Ulysses], in this film, you and your brothers perform a spin on Nutcracker, which is the Nutcracker’s mustache. And I heard you guys got to help craft that ballet because you guys have a ballet background. How special was that?

Ulysses Janson: It was just amazing. My ballet teacher, Ms. Claudia Barrett, she’s a well-known ballet dancer in Cincinatti. When she got the school together, Ballet Tech of Ohio, she saw all these other nutcrackers all these other famous ballet schools were doing. And all of them had different little things, but they’re all like, the same, so she would kind of break off and make her own little branch of a nutcracker that is just more fun. And then when she was asked to choreograph for this, she went completely out on the fun part.

Yeah, it really shows, it’s such a fun cap off to the movie as well. Atlas, it’s really cool that this was filmed on your actual family farm. How was that transition of, you know, just living regular life one day and then there’s a movie going on next? That’s so crazy.

Atlas Janson: So surprised that we got to film our house, cameras all over our house, filming animals, our pets, our house, our farm. It was just such a good experience, if you wanna be a camera operator, you just see that and when you grow up, you be a camera operator. It was just amazing seeing our farm in a movie.

Yeah, and it’s a great locale. It’s a gorgeous farm. Linda, I really liked how the film ended because we get this nice montage and, it wraps up the story nicely. You see where all the characters end. How nice was it to kind of goof off in these moments and have this nice resolution for everybody?

Cardellini: I think it’s really great and I think it’s earned for her character, too. You know, for Gretchen, she’s really wanted them to end up together. She wants them to stay together as a family. And so in the end, I think she really sees Ben’s character for sort of the nicer person that he is inside of there. And then the idea that there might be something beyond that for them is, I think it’s really fun. And those scenes that we did sort of out by the fire in the back of the farm, they were so much fun to shoot and we were really standing there in a bonfire with, you know, sparklers and all that stuff.

Ulysses: They actually left tons of those little fireworks.

Cardellini: Oh really?

Ulysses: Uh huh. They couldn’t sell them or do anything with them, so they were just like, “there you go.”

Cardellini: Did you keep them? Did you guys use them yet?

Ulysses: No, not yet. We’ve used some [laughs]

Ulysses, your mom actually went to film school with the director, David Gordon Green.

Ulysses: Yes.

How nice was it that you actually had that friendship with David before the film?

Ulysses: So the first time we met David was after my mom went out from film school with him, they did films together. Then our mom moved to Ohio. She was fourth generation, she got married, had us, so that was like a 10-year gap where David and her were seeing each other. So he’s like, “Okay, I have two days to fly out and meet your family.” So he came out first we were like, “Who’s this David?” So then when we met him, we were trying to be like all nice and then he was just so nice, he immediately became an uncle figure. He swam in the pond, had leeches and you could see that little…that little spark where you have an idea. So two months later, Leland Douglas, the writer of the movie, and Chelsea, his assistant, came out. They were immediately family as well. We did all the same stuff, we broke some four wheelers with them and then two months later, 81 friends come out and we started making a movie.

Denis Villeneuve is known for directing some of the best and most critically acclaimed sci-fi movies of the last two decades, but has no interest in making a Star Wars movie. The director believes that the franchise “derailed” after 1983.

What did Denis Villeneuve say about making a Star Wars movie?

Speaking during a recent appearance on The Town podcast (via The Hollywood Reporter), Villeneuve brought up the iconic franchise, and said that he fell out of love of sorts with it after 1983’s Return of the Jedi.

“I was the target audience. I was 10 years old. It went to my brain like a silver bullet. I became obsessed with Star Wars,” he said. “I mean, The Empire Strikes Back is the movie that I anticipated the most in my life. I saw the movie a billion times onscreen. I was traumatized by The Empire Strikes Back. I adore Star Wars.”

Villeneuve went on to say that, to him, he believes the franchise “derailed” in 1983 following Return of the Jedi, and has since become “crystallized in its own mythology” without any room for surprises.

“The problem is that it all derailed in 1983 with Return of the Jedi,” he continued. “It’s a long story. I was 15 years old, and my best friend and I wanted to take a cab and go to L.A. and talk to George Lucas — we were so angry! Still today, the Ewoks. It turned out to be a comedy for kids. … Star Wars became crystallized in its own mythology, very dogmatic, it seemed like a recipe, no more surprises. So I’m not dreaming to do a Star Wars because it feels like code is very codified.”

While Villeneuve doesn’t seem too keen to tackle a Star Wars movie in the future, his Dune adaptation is still going strong. Following the big success of the first two films, Villeneuve is working on a third film, Dune: Messiah, which is set to cap off the trilogy of films.

Chet Hanks is reportedly set to join the upcoming indie thriller Lone Wolf, which stars Lily Gladstone and Bryan Cranston.

According to a new report from Jeff Sneider in his The InSneider, Hanks will join the project in an as-of-yet unspecified role. He’ll join both Cranston and Gladstone in the film, which is being directed by Mark Pellington (Arlington Road), from a script written by Tom Chilcoat.

What do we know about Lone Wolf?

The project is described as a conspiracy thriller, and will follow the story of a troubled vet (Gladstone) struggling with addiction. After being recruited by a contractor (Cranston) for a covert government plot to assassinate a politician and being set up to take the blame, she has to use her own skills to get out of the situation and outwit those against her.

The movie is being produced by Ted Hope and Christine Vachon via Double Hope and Killer Films, respectively, and Yale Productions’ Jordan Yale Levine and Jordan Beckerman are also attached to produce.

Hanks is the son of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, and has had recurring roles in projects like Empire, Shameless, and Your Honor, where he previously starred alongside Cranston. Hanks is also known for his often viral internet presence, where he routinely posts on social media sites like Instagram.

Up next for Hanks, the actor is set to appear in the upcoming Netflix series Running Point, which is also set to star Kate Hudson.

Writer and filmmaker Chris Morgan recently gave an update on a new movie focused on the character Lucas “Luke” Hobbs from the Fast & Furious universe, hinting that the movie is still in the works, but might not be next up.

What did Chris Morgan say about a Hobbs movie?

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter recently, Morgan — who has written on seven Fast & Furious projects, including 2019’s Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw — was asked about the status of a Hobbs-centric project. Morgan said he wasn’t the right person to talk to when it comes to that.

“That’s really something the studio would have to speak to. We’re talking about what comes when and how, but I’ll leave that to greater minds than mine,” said Morgan.

Morgan would also go on to say that he is currently working on a script to a “Hobbs & Shaw kind” of project, but wouldn’t go into much detail beyond that. It’s unclear whether or not the film is a movie tied to the Fast & Furious franchise, or its own separate thing.

“It’s under lock and key. I can say that I’m working on a Hobbs & Shaw kind of script. So we’ll see where that goes, but I’m excited about it,” Morgan said. “We also have a project [called Deputy X] that we’re doing at Universal with Glen Powell. Will Beall just wrote an awesome draft, and it feels like we’re gearing up for a big fun franchise. I have another action thing that I’m thinking about writing. But one of my passions is horror, and I would like to do one great horror movie someday. Basically, every night, I’m watching some new horror movie. Again, I worked at a video store for ten years. So I’ve been through all of them, and I never get bored of horror. I just love it.”

Wicked‘s box office success continues, with the film recently taking in enough money to earn the second-best November Tuesday numbers in box office history.

What are Wicked’s latest box office numbers?

According to a report from Deadline, Wicked took home $16.8 million this past Tuesday, the second-highest amount for a November Tuesday. The number trailers just one movie, Disney’s Frozen 2, and continues to rack up impressive numbers for the musical adaptation.

So far, Wicked has earned $144.9 million at the domestic box office, and its Tuesday total was up 5% on its already record-breaking Monday, when the film earned $15.8 million.

The Wicked movies are directed by Jon M. Chu from a screenplay written by the musical’s book writer Winnie Holzman. It is based on Gregory Maguire’s bestselling novel and the Tony-winning stage musical. 

The ensemble cast is led by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, who play Galinda Upland and Elphaba Thropp in the film, respectively. The rest of the cast includes Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero Tigelaar, Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard of Oz, Peter Dinklage as Doctor Dillamond, Bowen Yang as Pfannee, Keala Settle as Miss Coddle, Marissa Bode as Nessarose Thropp, Bronwyn James as ShenShen, Ethan Slater as Boq, and more.

“The film tells the untold story of the witches of Oz: Elphaba, a young woman, misunderstood because of her unusual green skin, who has yet to discover her true power; and Glinda, a popular young woman, gilded by privilege and ambition, who has yet to discover her true heart,” reads the official synopsis. “The two meet as students at Shiz University in the fantastical Land of Oz and forge an unlikely but profound friendship. Following an encounter with The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, their friendship reaches a crossroads and their lives take very different paths.”

Wicked: Part One is out now in theaters. The sequel, Wicked: Part Two, is currently set for November 21, 2025.

Black takes on the role of Satan, who gives a young boy three wishes for Christmas after mistakenly receiving a letter that was supposed to be addressed to Santa Claus. It highlights the chaos that Black’s character will bring to this young boy’s holiday as he tries his best to corrupt his soul.

Netflix has officially released a new Squid Game Season 2 trailer, previewing the highly anticipated upcoming season and inviting fans back into the games.

What happens in the new Squid Game Season 2 trailer?

The latest trailer once again highlights the return of Seong Gi-hun, also known as Player 456 (played by Lee Jung-jae) to the Squid Game. The trailer shows off more of the action that fans can expect in the second season, and some of the new games as well.

Squid Game Season 2 will be released on December 26, 2024, on Netflix.

I know that a lot of the different fans and audiences have enjoyed the series very much, but, really, we’re focusing on how to make it even more joyful to the global audience.” 

The first season of Squid Game was released in September 2021. The Sex Lives of College Girls Season 3 premiered this week, and the series’ co-showrunner Justin Noble recently opened up about his goals for the upcoming season of the Max dramedy.

What are the goals for The Sex Lives of College Girls Season 3?

Speaking to THR, Noble — who co-created the series with Mindy Kaling and also serves as showrunner — was asked about his goals for the upcoming series. According to Noble, his hopes are to explore the feel of what sophomore year in college is like, and how different it is from the girls’ freshman years.

“This season is so interesting, because sophomore year is a really unique time in the college experience,” said Noble. “You come into school as a first-year, and you don’t know anything at all, and you’re shell-shocked. Three months ago, you had to call your parents to pick you up at the mall because you got a Wetzel’s Pretzels with your friend and you needed a ride home. And now you’re like, ‘I’m a full-blown adult,’ and life smacks you in the face. Then, sophomore year, you have the same thing happen but in a different way because it’s like, ‘Oh, I know everything about college. I’ve been here for a full year. Oh, you’re a first-year. You need to know how this works.’ Meanwhile, based on when your birthday is, you are like six months older than these people.”

Noble went on to say that it would also be fun to see the girls interact with the underclassman, and opening up the world of the show.

“It’s fun to see our girls start to interact with the class underneath them. It’s fun to see the world getting bigger,” Noble said. “That’s what happens in college, in my experience, and in the writers’ experiences that we talked about so much. Your first year, you hang on to the people in your life so close, because you’re in it together, and you’re like, “This is my close circle of friends.” And then as you get more comfortable, you’re joining clubs, and you’re meeting more people; your world just gets bigger and bigger. I think we start to see that a little bit in the first episode. But obviously, we have a lot to accomplish between season two cliffhangers and switching up the cast a little bit. So we’re just starting to meet some people who we’ll interact with more.”

The Sex Lives of College Girls is created by Kaling and Noble, the latter of whom also serves as the showrunner. The series stars Pauline Chalamet, Amrit Kaur, Alyah Chanelle Scott, Mekki Leeper, Christopher Meyer, Ilia Paulino, Lolo Spencer, Renika Williams, Mitchell Slaggert, and Reneé Rapp, the latter of whom will be in the show for just a few episodes before her departue.

Additional cast members for Season 3 include Rebecca Wisocky, Nabeel Muscatwalla, Michael Hsu Rosen, Ruby Cruz, Devin Craig, Michael Provost, and Roby Attal. It is executive produced by Howard Klein. It is a production by Kaling International in association with Warner Bros. Television.
